Roseville Chrysler dealer secures Dodge line

ROSEVILLE - When Grosse Pointe resident Dean Petitpren, owner of Anheuser-Busch distributor Petitpren Inc. looks for a car dealership, he's interested in more than just the vehicle inventory.
"I ask what they do for their community - what do they give back," Petitpren said. "Many just take without giving. But Mike Riehl and his family give back to the community, and I believe in that."
Petitpren, a longtime customer of Mike Riehl's Roseville Chrysler

Jeep, has also become the first customer to take possession of a vehicle in the dealership's newly acquired Dodge line. On June 17, Petitpren was handed the keys to a new Dodge Caravan that will be used by his Clinton Township-based sales and merchandising Department."(Caravans) are all I use. It's agreat car; it's versatile; and I get great service here," he said."We get about 170,000 miles out of them, and then we sell them and get new. They'll go forever." Sales manager Brian Ackerman said the dealership just began receiving inventory last Tuesday and currently has 35-40 vehicles on the lot. "Chrysler's business model going into the future is to haveeach of their dealers sell Chrysler,Jeep and Dodge brands all sold under one roof. Two Dodge dealerships closed in Eastpointe and Mount Clemens, so we've been working for a while to get that franchise," he said."We're just getting the word
out, but we've had many customers ask us when we could sell them Dodges over the past few years."Ackerman said the most popular
items are the Dodge Journey crossover and the Dodge Ram pickup. Although it might take several months for the dealership to receive its official Dodge sign, the announcement is painted in bright letters on the dealership's showroom windows, and Ackerman invites everyone to stop in and check out Dodge's 2011 product line."We have a lot of promotions running right now - everything from rebates of $5,000-$6,000 and zero percent financing from 60 months," he said. Owner Mike Riehl said it took about 10 months to acquire the Dodge franchise, although he has been selling and repairing used Dodge cars and trucks for years.  "It's going to fill a void in our product lineup, now that we have the Ram truck line," he said. "Our salespeople are very excited, and our customers have been waiting patiently to purchase new Dodge vehicles from us. I want to thank them for that and let them know we'll be building up our inventory over the next few weeks."  Mike Riehl's Chrysler Jeep is located at 25800 Gratiot Avenue in Roseville.
